We have an opportunity for a CAD Operator (m/f/d) to join our team in Hamburg.
In this exciting role, you will take on a key position in creating accurate technical drawings and documentation for both our own products and third-party systems (OEM). Your focus will be on developing customized solutions for modern navigation systems such as IBS and Sperry Navigation Equipment (e.g., VisionMaster, Gyro Steering).
Working closely with our Project Engineers and Project Management teams, you will design and develop integrated navigation systems for a variety of vessel types. You will support the entire project lifecycle—from the initial concept phase and approvals through to final as-built documentation.
 
What to expect – Your responsibilities:
 
  • Preparation of system overviews, interconnection diagrams, and detailed wiring diagrams in close coordination with Project Engineering
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation for customer projects
  • Development of customer-specific solutions in the field of maritime navigation systems
  • Continuous analysis and improvement of processes to increase efficiency in documentation preparation
  • Creation of mechanical outline drawings
  • Support in the planning of antenna layouts and bridge arrangements

About You

Ideally, you should have completed the advanced security clearance (Ü2). If this is not the case, it is a mandatory requirement for this role that you meet the criteria for this security clearance. 
  • AutoCAD or similar related training.
  • Understanding and in-depth knowledge required for efficient use of computer-aided design CAD (AutoCAD standard)
  • Fluent with Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Efficient work and communication skills.
  • Team spirit and ability to work in an international team’s organization.
  • Self-motivated and strives for continuous improvement
  • Self-initiative and independent
  • Fluent English speaking and writing skill.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of marine navigation equipment e.g. speedlog, gyros, autopilot/steering, RADAR/ECDIS, GMDSS, radio, etc.
  • Able to travel (infrequent)
