Role Overview

We are a global leader in the marine navigation systems industry, providing integrated technical solutions for the commercial sector, and currently face exponential growth underpinned by an ambitious development roadmap.

Sperry Marine has just set up a new subsidiary in Busan, Korea. An exciting opportunity has arisen as we are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join us in this new adventure. This highly visible role is expected to be heavily involved in setting up the new Korea office as well as establishing and ensuring the new office complies with local tax and accounting reporting requirements. Initially this role is offered as a two year fixed term contract.

Accounting:

Responsible for the full spectrum of accounting works of the office. Ensure proper set up of accounting function to produce accurate and timely submission of financial statements to meet internal and external audit requirements;

Responsible for general office administrative tasks and supporting HR in setting up and maintaining local Payroll Processing and local Personnel Administration tasks;

Branch Management Support:

In conjunction with the Site Manager in Korea, provide local administrative support across functions in the office; collaborate with functions to ensure local office is compliant with company policies, local government laws and regulations and Corporate Business Conduct requirements.

About You:

Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
In depth Accounting/Finance Knowledge and Experience (8 years + Accounting/Finance knowledge and experience in MNCs with strong understanding of business operations)
Good understanding of local taxation regulations and regulatory reporting requirements.
Good understanding of new office setup requirements
Experienced in use of ERP systems
Good in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Self starter / Team Player
Strong Communication Skills across different functions and at all levels
Personal and work effectiveness
Customer focus
Teamwork & process improvement
Able to be hands on and work Independently
Good command of English and Korean
Commitment to results
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Sound judgement and initiative

Good to have:

Professional Accounting Certification (CPA, CA, ACCA, etc)
Knowledge of Marine Service industry would be an advantage.
Strong Business Acumen
