Role Overview

Sperry Marine are a global leader in the marine navigation systems industry, providing integrated technical solutions for the commercial and naval markets. Headquartered in the UK, we have an extensive international presence across Europe, the Americas and Asia, employing almost 400 people across ten countries.

As Product Manager - Sensors & Steering Systems, you will take ownership of a strategically important portfolio of marine navigation sensors and steering products, guiding them through their entire lifecycle from concept to retirement. You will define product strategy, roadmap priorities, and lifecycle plans while ensuring profitability, competitiveness, quality, and long-term sustainability. Working at the intersection of business, engineering, service, and supply chain, you will shape the future of navigation sensors and steering technologies that support commercial, naval, retrofit, and reseller markets worldwide.

 A successful candidate will:
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, profitability, and lifecycle performance of the Sensors & Steering product portfolio, ensuring sustained business growth and market competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, define investment priorities, and drive portfolio evolution based on customer needs, business value, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead the complete product lifecycle, including product introduction, growth, maturity, end-of-support planning, and end-of-life strategies.
  • Act as the primary interface between Product Management and Engineering, defining product requirements, guiding prioritization decisions, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution.
  • Drive product quality, reliability, and field performance improvements by evaluating customer feedback, warranty trends, and corrective actions across the installed base.
  • Manage obsolescence risks, supplier ecosystem strategies, and COTS product portfolios to ensure long-term product availability and supportability.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Service, Supply Chain, Project Teams, and strategic partners to deliver successful product releases, support reseller growth, and maximize customer value.

About You

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of advanced marine navigation and steering technologies while owning a globally relevant product portfolio. You will work with international stakeholders, influence strategic investment decisions, and play a key role in delivering innovative, reliable solutions for customers operating in some of the world's most demanding maritime environments.

We are looking for a candidate who brings:
  • Significant experience in Product Management, Product Line Management, or Portfolio Management, ideally within maritime, industrial, or other safety-critical technology environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of marine navigation technologies, sensors, steering systems, hardware-based products, and product lifecycle management principles.
  • Proven ability to develop product roadmaps, manage profitability, lead portfolio decisions, and balance competing stakeholder requirements.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Maritime Technology, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience, together with fluent English communication skills.
  • German language skills are advantageous.

If this sounds like it matches your experience, and the type of work you'd love to do, we can’t wait to hear from you. And because diverse teams perform better, we’d especially welcome applications from individuals from under-represented groups.

What You Get in Return

  • A role that offers scope to make a real difference, supported by a committed and open-minded team.
  • Competitive salary and work-life-balance (flexi time account, flexible working time regulations)
  • International working environment
  • Hybrid working policy - 3 days a week in the office
  • Professional development opportunities and exposure to cross-functional projects.
  • A range of other benefits to support the health, wellbeing and lifestyle of you and your family
