Role Overview

We are looking for a qualified accounting professional with an aptitude for growth and continuous improvement to join our growing team of Finance professionals in the UK. 

The successful candidate will work directly with the Head of Finance for the Sperry Marine group of companies to drive centralisation of homogeneous processes and operations within Finance, leveraging the global ERP system to deliver improved corporate governance, and efficient management of financial processes across the group.

The role will be working regularly with the regional Financial Controllers, Branch Accountants and commercial teams across the organisation to ensure group’s policies and processes are effective at a local level. Your aptitude for technology, problem solving and attention to detail will make you the natural subject matter expert in how we are using technology to reduce friction in our financial processes across the group.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or related degree level
  • ACA / ACCA Qualified Accountant, preferably with progressive experience in industry or within practice
  • Technically proficient and experience dealing with IFRS
  • Self-starter, and capable of working with limited supervision – direct line management situated remotely in Singapore; in-country Finance team available for support
  • Experience working across an international team with different backgrounds (and many without English as a first language)
  • Good time and project management – able to work flexibly and prioritise appropriately;
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong team player in a multi-cultural environment, comfortable working with remote teams and colleagues
  • Analytical, proactive, meticulous, organised, and highly effective in communication and partnering across functions
  •  Highly advanced in Excel
  • Experience working across multiple technical ERP / finance systems (IFS knowledge an advantage)
  • Acts with integrity and objectivity, maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability
